I think the most disappointing thing about coming home is seeing how many of my friends have chosen to wander off the path after knowing the goodness of the fruit of the tree of life. I was reading in 1 Nephi 8 this morning about Lehi’s dream and the impression came to me: Don’t be distracted by those who’ve been distracted! I have my eye on the prize! I am Celestial material and I will never let go of the rod of iron. I know that anyone who sincerely reads and prays about the Book of Mormon, in the name of Jesus Christ, can know for themselves that this is the true strait and narrow path to our eternal home.

Querida familia...and other amigos,

I have decided to start blogging again. And I had to make a new blog because who I am is so different than who I was 19 months ago. (This is my former blog fyi.) I promise to not write so much about ex-boyfriends and my period and stuff;) I've mellowed out A LOT since before the mission.

But one thing is still the same: I have a testimony of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ! However, that conversion has deepened and become an anchor for me--a promise given to me in my setting-apart blessing. I feel like that scripture in Mosiah 18:

"And now it came to pass that all this was done in Mormon, yea, by the waters of Mormon, in the forest that was near the waters of Mormon; yea, the place of Mormon, the waters of Mormon, the forest of Mormon, how beautiful are they to the eyes of them who there came to the knowledge of their Redeemer; yea, and how blessed are they, for they shall sing to his praise forever."

Replace "Mormon" with "Virginia" and it kind of starts to describe how I feel. I'm so grateful for the opportunity I had to serve a mission and I look forward to whatever God has in store for me now!:)
